Irish expats wil have to wait longer for the launch of RTE INTERNATIONAL edition of RTE the broadcaster has told the irish government that the plan could be too expensive under the current economic climate but under a 2007 EU law RTE must launch a channel for communities outside the island of Ireland RTE INT was due to to launch on 17th of March 2009 ST. Patricks day with a mix of programmes from RTE1, RTE2 & TG4 (communications minister Eamon Ryan said the goverment remained committed to launching the channel)
